Patty and I are gardeners. We love the thaw of winter that inevitably transitions to Spring because that’s when we can get our hands dirty. That’s when we can finally get to that patch of land that we call our garden. And this year…. Well, this year we’re going full on farmer, grower, experimenter, explorer into the vast and wondrous realm of: variety!
You see, this is a huge step for us. We are “grow what you know” type of gardeners. And I have a bit of obsession with garlic. Yeh, probably a disease at this point – I planted 120 bulbs this year! So, when we sat down this winter and listened to Roots and Refuge, and purchased the amazing seed catalog from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company and visited the MIgardener website and the Hudson Valley Seed Company site, we got a bit excited:
